About Shonky NFT

Shonky NFTs are the brainchild of  a mum living on Awabakal land in Australia, who is a creative being who sees a lot of shonky things happening in her world.

Known on Twitter as Shonks, she decided to poke fun at these monsters by immortalising their dirty deeds on the blockchain.

Shonks is a female, a mother, a sister, a daughter and a friend who firmly believes that when women raise each other up, beautiful things can happen.

How Did You Start in NFT’s?

My son introduced me to NFT’s mid 2021 and I loved the idea, and began collecting right away. I then had the idea of turning my silly stories and drawings into NFT’s. After a lot of stopping and starting, I finally came up with enough items to do a 1/1 collection. The Original Collection was born. After playing around with generative art and Photoshop layers, the DirtyFingers collection was born!

I studied art at University and had worked as a graphic designer most of my life. Churning out work for employers, my creativity dying more and more as each year passed. Suddenly, I am feeling super creative and have new ideas each day for my work. Lucky for me, the world is filled with endless shonky people, so I am never left scrambling for material.
